In regards the work of communicators, technology has been very beneficial. In the article, How Technology Has Changed Workplace Communication, the author explains how communicators depend highly on technology but it also creates barriers when it comes to getting to know who you are working with. The author states "As it turns out, the answer to all of the complaints about the evolving workplace wasn't to abandon technology for a more human way of working, but to evolve technology to make the new way of working more human." I completely agree that I don't think we need to stop using technology but I do think that we need the technology to adapt to our lives instead. With that being said, I believe everyday technology is defining how we work as communicators and helping to do our job more effectively. Technology has also allowed communicators to evolve because of the ability to work from home and not actually ever having to go to an office to work. This is becoming more and more popular with companies because it is more cost efficient and allows employees to have a more balanced life. Technology has also allowed the work place to have a better training program regarding their position and growing within the company. Technology helps to allow employees to have hands on training whether it is in a group setting or one-on-one, it has a positive impact on the communicator.
