Relying on Social Media and Technology

Seeing how we rely on technology and social media more and more every day, it is crazy to think about how often we spend scrolling through our feed. In the article, How Much Time Will the Average Person Spend on Social Media During their Life?, the author analyzes a study to see how much time people spend on social media during their lifetime. On average, a person spends a total of five years and four months on social media. I believe our culture has almost made it very difficult to live in this world without using social media at all. Many people use social media for work purposes so they have no choice but to use it during their day. Depending on a person's job title it might require them to use more or less social media during their work day then the average person. Technology has changed society's expectations of culture because we are almost expected to connect to the rest of the world with technology and if we don't we fall out of touch. I believe that is the real expectation of what technology has come to. By not being a part of technology it would limit a person and what they are able to do in their professional life as well as personal life. The use of technology has overall influenced our social culture by making it nearly impossible to do our job or even communicating with people without the use of it. By being able to do our jobs and communicate with others is easier today than it has ever been because of technology and it abilities to make our life simpler.
